I'm so excited its the weekend! I'm going to grab a drink after work with some work friends at Symphony 8 which will be fun - buckets of beer and great food. Then my friend Jamie invited me to go to a concert tonight at the House of Blues! I've never been there before, so I snagged a pic from google just to see what the outside looks like!
We are going to see Corinne Bailey Rae/Daniel Merriweather! I'm not familiar with them (Jamie knows EVERYTHING about music) so he is going to bring in their CD's for me to listen to today. Hopefully I will be able to find a few favs, listen to them on repeat all day, then be able to sing along tonight!
So excited for tonight - should be a great time!
Then my friend Steph is coming tomorrow to do a little apartment hunting for the big move to Boston June 1st.
Saturday night, I'm planning on going to a Derby party at my friend Beth's house, which is always a good time!

fajitas and ritas!
Last night was so much fun! I met up with my friend Beth for some great Mexican food and drinks at Fajitas and Ritas. Its located right in downtown crossing, which was so convenient for both of us to meet there because I'm coming from the Pru, and she is coming from Southie!
I love it when a Mexican restaurants bring you warm chips and salsa the minute you site down - a great to start off the evening! I got bean and cheese burrito (which was only $5.60 - how can you beat that?!) and Beth got veggie fajitas - both were absolutely amazing.
I forgot to take a few pics, so a found some off google images:
I just love the atmosphere this place has, the crazy artwork that covers every inch of the restaurant makes it feel so down to earth - definitely recommend anyone that is in that area to check it out!
Also, Beth and I have decided to start our own book club! We are so excited - stay tuned!!

Supper Club: Lamb and a spring green risotto!
Nia made a fantastic dinner last night. She found a recipe off of Barefoot Contessa for the risotto and then went 'with her gut' feeling for the lamb. Which was very cool, because I definitely need to stick to the recipe if I want something to turn out well!
For the risotto, she did leave out the peas but put in extra asparagus because none of us really enjoy peas that much.
Delicious! Way to go Ni!

I want these:
They are SO impractical. Steve Madden Peep toe - cheetah print - flats. I know. But still they are so cute, and fun! However the red flower puff is a little distracting. Its not exactly a spring red, its more of a winter red...
Happy Friday!

boutique 9
I just decided to buy a new pair of Grey flats. I bought the last pair a few months ago and wore them so much that they were just pathetic, and sad. Especially since walking through rain doesn't do anything good for shoes. So I went and bought a pair of the boutique 9 flats.
They had really fun colors like neon yellow and pink, but I thought the Grey would go with a lot more. They are a little uncomfortable right now, but once my heels get the hang of them, they will be amazing!
Happy Thursday!

Jamie Oliver is God
M's turn to cook last night for supper club, which turned out amazing! I have never had tuna steaks before, and wow am I glad M decided to make them - they are delicious! She found the recipe out of Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution book:
She started out making the asparagus:
Then Pan searing the tuna which only takes a few minutes:
Then she topped everything off with a great sun dried tomato sauce:
And for dessert, Angel Food Cake:
Great job M!!

Alumni Weekend
It was so much fun. I'm so glad I went and was able to hang out with all the girls. We were able to do everything we wanted - bobs, sig party, pi lamb party, more bobs, macadoos - all the normal activities we used to do when down at Roanoke! Oh how I miss college. Even though we will probably not go next year because we were all feeling a bit 'old', perhaps someplace tropical will be in the near future!

SC with a roof deck
Nikki made dinner last night and it was unbelieveable! On top of the fact that she has an amazing roof deck, she made an absolutely delicious meal!
She made grilled veggies (artichokes - first time ever having them and they were amazing. Onions and zucchini)
On the side she had two dipping sauces: spicy remoulade sauce to dip the artichoke in and a chimichuri sauce for the steak! Mmm even thinking about the dinner last night makes me hungry...

I picked up this little pencil/make-up brush holder yesterday from barnes and noble. I know its a tiny little thing for my apartment, but its little things like this that make me happy.
Especially considering the size of my apartment, one little thing like this stands out. But I guess I cant imagine giving up my view.
Or my walk to work:

Last week, after the horrendous experience with returning the yellow dress, I was able to go back to Suneri and pick out something that I KNOW I will wear:

Potatoes and Pork
It was my turn to cook last night, and I think I did a pretty good job if I do say so myself! I made Island Spice Pork Tenderloin from Annie Eats and it was delicious! I would definitely recommend everyone to try this recipe, it was so tasty and best of all, very very easy!
For the side, I made my moms recipe, homemade mashed potatoes!
Need:
Yukon gold potatoes (I only used half of the 5 lb bag)
dallop of sour cream
1/4 cream cheese
2 Tsp of butter
splash of milk - make sure you don't pour in too much otherwise you will get 'soupy mashed potatoes'
salt to taste
Sorry I forgot to take a picture of pork and potatoes on the plate, so I just took one after everyone already ate:

Supper Club has expanded!
I'm so excited to announce that we have officially added another member to SC...
Another N to the club - she is amazing cook, so I can't wait to try out some of her dishes!
Tonight is my turn to cook, so I've decided to make Island Spice Pork Tenderloin from Annie Eats (of course :-)) And usually if SC is my turn, I like to cook at my place, just because I have all the spices, tools etc. But its supposed to be a whopping 86 degrees here in Boston, and therefore making my little tree house about a million and one degrees. So depending on the temp, might be going to N and M's place!

Lame return policy
So I have decided to take back the yellow dress - reason being because it just doesn't do anything for me. I'm so glad I checked to make sure that I still had the receipt because on it, it says these conditions:
Return Policy:
- No cash refunds (Are you serious?)
- Item must be returned within 10 days after purchasing the item with original tags and new condition (Great I have until tomorrow to return this dress, or I get nothing)
- Item can only be exchanged for store credit (awesome, I can buy more dresses that don't look good on me)
- Store credit is good for one year
Fantastic. This is worse than forever21's policy.
All in all - I have just spent $78 and will never see it again, but only in the form of another item that may or may not look good on me from Suneri - well I guess I will have store credit for up to a year so hopefully I can find something I like.

Easter Weekend
I went home over the weekend to Baltimore, and had a fantastic time! I'm already really sad that I wont be back until June - why must I live so far from my family?!
Thursday, I got home around 8:30, and Alex came to pick me up. We went home to say hi to Mom, then went to grab a bite from Bill Batemans - great crab pretzels!
Then on Friday, it was absolutely gorgeous out, so we hung out outside the entire day, got a bit burned, but it was definitely worth it! Here's a picture of Mom with Sam:
Then we went to the Rec Room, which is an outdoor bar that has heaters and a fireplace, which was nice because even though it did cool down at night, it a great night to be outside. Then on Saturday, it was a little chilly outside, so Mom and I did a little shopping. Saturday night, we got tickets for the University of Maryland Lax game against UVA - it was a great game.

Then on Sunday, we went to our Cousin's house for Easter dinner with my dad and sisters. I did realize, but she just started her own business - a cute shoe store in Ruxton called The little Shoe Box - definitely check it out!
After, we headed back to my moms house for Easter dinner #2
